Following the effective date of Town/Village Merger on July 1, 2014, the legislative body of Northfield, Vermont is the Town Select Board, whose members are elected to two- or three-year terms by Australian Ballot on Town Meeting Day.
The Town Select Board's primary responsibilities include overseeing the operations of the Northfield Emergency Services (Fire, Police, and Ambulance), the Northfield Highway Department, and the Northfield Utility Departments (Water, Sewer, and Electric). The Town Select Board also is responsible for recreational facilities in Northfield.
In 2023, the Northfield Select Board will hold its regular meetings in the Community Room located in the Brown Public Library (93 South Main Street) on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. Click the link below for Agendas & Minutes for the full meeting schedule. The Select Board members have developed and adopted this form as part of their efforts to decide how best to allocate local American Recovery Plan Act (APRA) funds. This form is being presented to the Northfield community as a means for entities to request funds for specific projects. Those interested in requesting ARPA funds must complete the form and then submit it to the Town Manager by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by regular mail to Town Manager, 51 South Main Street, Northfield, VT 05663. In addition, those interested are strongly encouraged to submit their completed forms as soon as possible so the Select Board members can start considering all requests.
