Announcement of Interim Police Chief

Interim Town Manager Steve Mackenzie is pleased to announce that the Town of Northfield and City of Montpelier have entered into an Intermunicipal Agreement regarding the position of Interim Police Chief for the Town of Northfield. Montpelier Police Chief Eric Nordenson has assigned Montpelier Deputy Police Chief Kevin Moulton as the Town’s full-time Interim Chief for a period of four months, effective immediately. Chief Moulton will fill the leadership void created by the vacancy in the Chief’s position. In addition to providing leadership to the existing department staff and responding to calls for service in a timely and effective manner, Chief Moulton, working with Montpelier Chief Nordenson, will collaborate with the Vermont State Police and other central Vermont police departments to provide full-time police coverage for the Town.
