The Recreation Committee holds regular meetings on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Northfield Municipal Building (51 South Main Street). Please check the "Current Notices" section of this website for any changes to this schedule. Interested members of the public are strongly encouraged to attend.
The Recreation Committee is comprised of volunteers from the community, appointed to three-year terms by the Northfield Select Board. The Recreation Committee monitors Northfield's recreational activities, facilities, programs, etc. and makes recommendations for action to the Town Manager and/or the Town Select Board. In addition, the Recreation Committee plans to hold community fundraisers in order to provide recreational opportunities for all Northfield residents without increasing taxes. For the same reason, the Recreation Committee actively seeks state and federal grant money (as well as private donations) to maintain and improve our recreational facilities.
