BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The governing body of the Village of Northfield is the Board of Trustees, whose members are directly elected to three-year terms by voters living in Northfield Village.

The Village Trustees’ primary responsibility is to oversee the operations of the Village-owned utility companies, which provide electricity, water, and sewer services to all residents of Northfield Village and to some (but not all) Northfield Town residents.

The Village Trustees also oversee the operation of the Village Highway Department and all Village-owned property, especially the Village Common and the Village Forest.

The current members of the Northfield Board of Village Trustees are:

In 2010, the Board of Trustees will meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.  The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room located in the Brown Public Library (93 South Main Street).  Exception:  the Village Trustees will meet on the 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of the month in June.

Please contact the Village Manager’s Office at 485-6121 by 4:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the next regular meeting if you or your group would like to be scheduled under “Public Participation.”  Please click here to see the “Procedures for Public Participation” adopted by the Boards of Town Selectmen and Village Trustees in July 2005.
