NORTHFIELD RECREATION COMMITTEE

The Recreation Committee is comprised of volunteers from the community, appointed to three-year terms by the Northfield Board of Town Selectmen.  The Recreation Committee monitors Northfield's recreational activities, facilities, programs, etc. and makes recommendations for action to the Municipal Manager, the Superintendent of Public Works, and/or the Town Selectmen.

In addition, the Recreation Committee plans to hold community fundraisers in order to provide recreational opportunities for all Northfield residents without increasing taxes.  For the same reason, the Recreation Committee actively seeks state and federal grant money (as well as private donations) to maintain and improve our recreational facilities.

The Recreation Committee holds regular meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Northfield Municipal Building (51 South Main Street).  Please check the "Current Notices" section of this website for any changes to this schedule.  Interested members of the public are strongly encouraged to attend.

The current members of the Recreation Committee are:

Adam Van Vught, Chair

Nathan Driscoll

Elizabeth Maier

Geoff Farnum

Kristine Seipel

Also, there is form for groups or organizations that would like to use the recreational facilities.  Please click here to download the form (in Adobe PDF format).  You then should print a hardcopy, fill it out, and return the form to the Northfield Municipal Building (51 South Main Street).

Please click here for the minutes of past meetings.

The current Recreation Committee is working to expand recreational opportunities in Northfield to a year-round basis.  However, the primary focus at this time is the Summer Program at the Memorial Park and Municipal Pool.  Please click the following links for 2009 Memorial Park Pool Schedule & Fees and for 2009 Swimming Lesson Sign-Up (both documents in Adobe PDF format).
