Northfield's 16th Annual Safety Day will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. behind the Northfield Firehouse (128 Wall Street). Please click here to view an informational flyer (PDF format). Please be aware that the listing of events and sponsors is subject to change.
The Northfield Farmers Market will be held on the Village Common each Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. through mid-October. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Verne DuClos at 728-3602.
The "Summer on the Common" band concerts will be held on the Village Common at 7:00 p.m. on the (Tuesday) nights of July 7, July 14, and July 21, 2009. For more information, please contact Jim Jones (485-7837) of the Paine Mountain Arts Council.

PLANT A PERENNIAL. Northfield residents are invited to plant perennials on the Village Common in memory of loved ones. Please begin with the area by the benches on the east end. Other appropriate areas will be marked by stakes. If you already have perennials that you would like to donate but cannot do the planting yourself, or you have any questions, please contact Superintendent of Public Works William Lyon at 485-6121
Free Northfield Community Shuttle. Starting on January 7, 2009, the Green Mountain Transit Agency (GMTA) will be operating a free shuttle bus in Northfield each Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. offering key stops at the Northfield Senior Center, the Green Mountain Apartments, Dogwood Glen, the Commons, CERV, and the Grand Union. For more information (or to request a route deviation), please call GMTA at 223-7287.
Burn Permits are required in the Town and Village of Northfield. Contact a Fire Warden before you burn. Call Fire Warden Brian Elwell (485-9036) or Assistant Fire Warden Michael Langley (279-3050).
