NORTHFIELD BOARD OF RECREATION
The Board of Recreation is comprised of volunteers from the community, appointed to three-year terms by the Northfield Board of Town Selectmen. The Board monitors Northfield's recreational activities, facilities, programs, etc. and makes recommendations for action to the Municipal Manager, the Superintendent of Public Works, and/or the Town Selectmen.
In addition, the Board of Recreation plans to hold community fundraisers in order to provide recreational opportunities for all Northfield residents without increasing taxes. For the same reason, the Board of Recreation actively seeks state and federal grant money (as well as private donations) to maintain and improve our recreational facilities.
The current Board of Recreation is working to expand recreational opportunities in Northfield to a year-round basis. However, the primary focus at this time is the Summer Program at the Memorial Park and Municipal Pool.
Also, there is a new form for groups or organizations that would like to use the recreational facilities. Please click here to download the form (in Adobe PDF format). You then should print a hardcopy, fill it out, and return the form to the Recreation Board Chair for approval (address is on the form).
